Peach Tart

This delicate peach tart has a slightly sweet flavour but is not sweet enough to mask the peach flavour. Using canned peaches the recipe serves as a cheap dessert. Similarly to our pineapple pie– we drain the liquid from the can in order to help it thicken in the oven.

You can use our pie pastry recipe for the pastry for the tart. The pastry is slightly sweet and adds a great crust.

This dessert is great with topping with ice cream and is best served hot as it deepens the peach flavour. It is best also with a custard topping as well.

  • 100 grams pie pastry
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 can peaches
  • 5 tbsp sugar
  • 1 pinch salt


  • Preheat oven to 175 C fan on.
  • Roll out the pastry to fill the tart dishes.
  • Drain the liquid from the peach can then add the peaches into a mixing bowl then crush them- add the sugar, cornstarch and salt. Mix until it's a thick liquid. Add the mixture into the pie dishes then place in oven for 30 minutes.
