Turmeric pie pastry can be made with either turmeric butter or simply adding around 2 tablespoons of turmeric and a teaspoon of cumin to the pastry. It’s delicious and serves a malleable crust! Though it is best made with our turmeric butter or homemade butter at least.
The pastry can be used to make an array of delicious dishes! Here are one’s that we recommend:
Peach Tart – a soft and sweet tart which goes well with ice cream.
Cinnamon Pineapple Pie. This pie is extremely delectable! The cinnamon and nutmeg gives it such an awe-inspiring flavour!
Onion bread is a delicious and a great way to use up any leftover onions! You can also add garlic to give a much stronger flavour as well! If you have any dried herbs they would also give it a great flavour too!
We used red onions since they’re healthier than white onions– you can choose whichever onion you wish to choose. For any condiments or spreads you’d like to use with your bread we have homemade butter which is much more delicious than the store-bought variant.
You can use any other oil other than olive oil; ghee is preferable though.
Mix the water with the yeast until it is cloudy and well incorporated together.
Add the water to the flour and then add the oil with chopped onions, salt and the (optional- if used; garlic)- knead into a dough. Then knead continuously for 5 minutes straight.
Cover the dough in a mixing bowl with cling film above. Keep under the sun for 12 hours until fully risen.
Once risen prepare a baking tray lined with baking paper then place the dough on the baking paper. Add three slices to the top which are medium in depth to allow the bread to cook evenly. Heat oven to 200-225 C fan on.
Keep the bread in the oven for 25 minutes if 225 fan on or 30 minutes if 200 C fan on.
Chill for half an hour then wrap the bread up or use!
Pineapple Cobbler is delicious and a great way to create a dessert with canned ingredients! With only the basic ingredients like sugar, flour and milk along with the liquids and the delicious pineapple! These together create this delicate dessert being filling and well- awesome!
We toasted the flour in order to make the cobbler taste much better, you can find the recipe for toasted flour here. If you’re looking for something else you can make with canned pineapples we have a pineapple pie recipe as well.
You can alternatively add butter into this recipe but we sadly didn’t have any available for when I had baked this up. Adding butter turns the topping of the cobbler from partially dry to nice and moist.
125-250mlmilkUse as much as you want as long as the mixture is not too liquidy; there should be some viscousity to it.
Preheat the oven to 175C fan on.
Mix the toasted flour, sugar and milk together then add butter then mix until there are no lumps and it's of the consistency between liquid and viscous.
Lay the pineapple slices on the enamel pie dish and then add some of the liquid from the can- not too much to make sure it's not too wet. Add the mixture above then place in the oven for 30 minutes on the middle rack.
If the pineapple cobbler is not cooked- keep it in the oven for 15 more minutes.
There are a lot of types of flatbread out there! We’ll be doing the basic type but linking multiple variations in this recipe post! Along with being a fast food to cook- it’s also amazingly cheap and you can pretty much use any oil you want! Save money on store-bought flatbreads and make these for less than a pound!
Usually, I use wheat flour but I made besan ki roti’s a few weeks ago and they were delicious! If you’ve got any besan flour to use – make sure to try those! Making flatbread usually has the same method – so you don’t need to worry if you change it a bit. Less water makes them drier- less oil makes them harder to roll. Just make sure you’ve got the right amount of those to the amount of flour used. Never forget that a pinch of salt goes a really long way.
You can use crushed cardamon with this recipe to give this a really refreshingly nice taste! You can watch that version on YouTube.
This egg cake prioritises the rubbery texture that is created through the use of multiple eggs. You can add fruit to this recipe like bananas to give the cake substance other than its rubber texture. It’s a simple yet delicious recipe that only utilises 3 base ingredients.

Mine’s a bit burnt but that’s because it wasn’t cooked when I checked since I had it at the bottom of the oven. Make sure to poke the middle if you think it’s cooked just to check whether it is or not. It will leak if it’s uncooked.
If the cake leaks then make sure to cut the part off when cooked. It should peel off quite easily. I suggest adding flavouring and fruit or nuts to this recipe to make it better if you cook it. Keep in mind that this recipe is a base; so you can experiment with the base.
Beat the eggs and keep on beating until risen a bit
Add the sugar and flour to the mixture and mix until smooth
Add the salt and mix, then add the mixture to the cake tin.
Put in a oven for half an hour.
Chill for an hour then enjoy.

Do you have any leftover cake that you really need to use? Well, we have a great recipe that you could use for that leftover cake! Crumble up those cake leftovers and mix them with butter and make a delicious apple cake crumble! Whatever flavour that cake had will transfer over to the crumble as well!
You can make this recipe without the butter that you would use for the crumble, but it will “crumble” a lot if so. I had to go without butter due to having non in my pantry at the time of baking this recipe.
Apologies for the random casserole that appears during the YouTube video, it was purely accidental and YouTube won’t let me clip it out. This is due to the video being under 25 seconds long for some weird YouTube reason.
We hope that you enjoyed this recipe, if you did and want to bake more- we have a special apple pie that you might enjoy!
