Cinnamon Pie Pastry

Cinnamon pie pastry is made with our delicious cinnamon butter! This pastry is much sweeter than the usual pastry that we make here. It is a shortcrust pastry made specifically for tarts and sweet pies. If you’re looking for a less sweet and more savoury pastry, however, you can find our cumin pie pastry.

Cinnamon Pie Pastry
You don’t need to use this for pies however, it works in any type of pastry. Mostly sweet pastries and it the pastry itself is rather malleable.

Ingredients
  

  • 300 grams cinnamon butter
  • 500 grams plain flour
  • 150 grams icing sugar
  • 3-4 egg yolks Do four if too dry when everything has been mixed together

Instructions
 

  • Mix the flour and the butter and the icing sugar together. Break apart the butter with your fingers into the flour inside of a bowl. Keep doing this until its mostly breadcrumbs.
  • Add the egg yolks and combine then keep hand mixing until it has become a pastry form. Add another yolk if its dry.
  • Knead for 5 minutes then leave rest for 20. Add to refrigerator afterwards.

Cinnamon Whipped Cream

This cinnamon whipped cream tastes absolutely delicious and pairs well with any dessert or even as a topper for drinks! You can add icing sugar to the whipped cream to turn it into a delicate frosting which is absolutely gorgeous!

Ingredients
  

  • 600 ml double cream
  • 2-4 tbsp cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Pour the double cream and cinnamon into a mixing bowl.
  • Either choose to use an electric mixer or a hand mixer. An electric mixer will cut down the time to around a minute or two. Keep whisking the cream until it gets thick and to the consistency of whipped cream but not too thick or it will turn into butter.

Cinnamon Pineapple Pie

This cinnamon pineapple pie is refreshingly sweet and great for summer! It’s got the sour and sweet complimenting each other and is surprisingly cheap to bake! All you need is canned pineapples for this, sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon. Obviously the pie pastry as well!

If you’re not so into pineapple pies- we have a peach tart which is a delicious side dessert for tea! You can add ice cream or any other sweet condiment to this pie to make it much better for summer weather!

We also add a bit of nutmeg to give it a higher depth of good flavour!

Ingredients
  

  • 100 grams pie pastry
  • 1 can pineapples
  • 5 tbsp sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon powder
  • 2 pinches nutmeg
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch or alternate thickener and its corresponding conversion.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 175 C fan on.
  • Roll out the pie pastry to fill the pie dish at least 0.5 cm thick.
  • Mix all of the filling ingredients together and blend them until its a pureĆ©
  • Add the filling to the pie dish then place in the oven for around 30 minutes.
