Coconut cream can be used as a substitute for double cream in vegan recipes or simply to make the dish taste better! Simply in this recipe, we will be using coconut milk. You can add sugar to it to make it a more dessert-based cream, though we will be keeping it basic.
You can use the cream in savoury dishes and desserts alike. Around a can of coconut milk will yield slightly more than a cup. We used this cream to make a delicious peach cobbler which you can find here. For savoury dishes, you can use it for a bean quiche which is quite frankly amazing!
Coconut Cream Recipe
- 1 can coconut milk
- Pour the can of coconut milk into a pot.
- Put the pot on medium heat then keep stirring for around 35 minutes or until you've got the right consistency of double cream.
