Peach cobbler is delicious and a great way to use up your canned peaches or fresh peaches! We used coconut cream for this recipe which gives it a delicious coconut aftertaste to it. Therefore, using the cream this recipe is 100% vegan!
Alternatively, you can make a much more tropical cobbler with pineapple as we have a recipe for that too! This cobbler is a plain and basic cobbler which means you can add any spice or herb to it. My recommendations would be allspice, cinnamon and cloves to give it an autumn note.
This allspice peach pie tastes delicious especially when served with ice cream! Best served when cold during summer and absolutely warming piping hot in winter! It’s absolutely cheap to bake and the turmeric pie pastry adds a healthy value to it!
Simply the ingredients are sugar, cornstarch, canned peaches and allspice! Though if you want a much more tropic delight for summer- we have that as a canned pineapple pie! The cornstarch is used to thicken up the pie filling to make it set. You can use any other thickener to do this though you will have to convert the quantities.
This 1-can peach crumble is absolutely scrumptious! With simple ingredients and a low-cost dessert- what can go wrong? You can add or change any of the spices based on your desired tastes.
Allspice will give it a more autumny flavour while cinnamon and nutmeg are used as their base. Though I didn’t add ginger to the recipe; you can add it to compliment the flavour a lot more. We used turmeric and cumin butter in this recipe to give some flavour to the dough. Though mostly it is to use up the butter before it goes off.
If you want to use a more sophisticated and cost-effective crumble; you can replace the crumble with cake crumbs. Not only does this reduce waste- but it also puts use to any leftover cake that you have left.
This delicate peach tart has a slightly sweet flavour but is not sweet enough to mask the peach flavour. Using canned peaches the recipe serves as a cheap dessert. Similarly to our pineapple pie– we drain the liquid from the can in order to help it thicken in the oven.
You can use our pie pastry recipe for the pastry for the tart. The pastry is slightly sweet and adds a great crust.
This dessert is great with topping with ice cream and is best served hot as it deepens the peach flavour. It is best also with a custard topping as well.
Drain the liquid from the peach can then add the peaches into a mixing bowl then crush them- add the sugar, cornstarch and salt. Mix until it's a thick liquid. Add the mixture into the pie dishes then place in oven for 30 minutes.
