Cinnamon Pie Pastry

Cinnamon pie pastry is made with our delicious cinnamon butter! This pastry is much sweeter than the usual pastry that we make here. It is a shortcrust pastry made specifically for tarts and sweet pies. If you’re looking for a less sweet and more savoury pastry, however, you can find our cumin pie pastry.

You don’t need to use this for pies however, it works in any type of pastry. Mostly sweet pastries and it the pastry itself is rather malleable.

Allspice Peach Pie

This allspice peach pie tastes delicious especially when served with ice cream! Best served when cold during summer and absolutely warming piping hot in winter! It’s absolutely cheap to bake and the turmeric pie pastry adds a healthy value to it!

Simply the ingredients are sugar, cornstarch, canned peaches and allspice! Though if you want a much more tropic delight for summer- we have that as a canned pineapple pie! The cornstarch is used to thicken up the pie filling to make it set. You can use any other thickener to do this though you will have to convert the quantities.

Pineapple Tart

Pineapple Tart has a tropical taste and it’s a really great dessert to have in the summer! Adding passion fruit on the side makes it better! If you want a less summery flavour then you can try out our peach tarts which have a more refreshing flavour!

You can use pretty much any pie pastry for this dessert- though we have our own which you might want to use! A recommendation for this recipe is to add some custard or perhaps some ice cream if it’s summer!

I recommend draining at least half or 3/4 of the liquid from the canned pineapples so that it’s not too liquidy and helps set.

Pork Loin Quiche

Pork Loin Quiche is a delicious quiche- it’s got the quintessential properties of one. Cheese and meat with herbs and spices. It’s both cost-effective as it uses one of the cheapest parts of pork available at the store. Along with utilizing mostly homemade ingredients like the pie pastry and stuff you can grow yourself.

The double cream used in this recipe gives it a nice creamy feel when eating the quiche and a lot of flavour depth too! We suggest crushing the garlic you use in this recipe and then dicing it. This activates that lovely flavour of the garlic.

If you want a meat-free quiche we have a vegetable quiche which you can cook instead.

Turmeric pie pastry can be made with either turmeric butter or simply adding around 2 tablespoons of turmeric and a teaspoon of cumin to the pastry. It’s delicious and serves a malleable crust! Though it is best made with our turmeric butter or homemade butter at least.

The pastry can be used to make an array of delicious dishes! Here are one’s that we recommend:

  • Peach Tart – a soft and sweet tart which goes well with ice cream.
  • Cinnamon Pineapple Pie. This pie is extremely delectable! The cinnamon and nutmeg gives it such an awe-inspiring flavour!

Peach Tart

This delicate peach tart has a slightly sweet flavour but is not sweet enough to mask the peach flavour. Using canned peaches the recipe serves as a cheap dessert. Similarly to our pineapple pie– we drain the liquid from the can in order to help it thicken in the oven.

You can use our pie pastry recipe for the pastry for the tart. The pastry is slightly sweet and adds a great crust.

This dessert is great with topping with ice cream and is best served hot as it deepens the peach flavour. It is best also with a custard topping as well.
