toasted flour recipe

Toasted flour is flour that has been cooked for a short amount of time to toast it. It adds a much more earthy and browned flavour to the flour which can give depth to many recipes. Whilst doing this it also kills the bad micro-organisms that can be harmful when you eat raw flour. I used this flour for cookie dough since you won’t have to worry about getting ill from it!

You can use it in pretty much any recipe! Especially pies- we suggest you try it out with our apple and pear pie! You can find any other recipes which you could use on our YouTube channel!

Method One

  • Place the flour evenly on a baking tray into the oven at 200 C fan on for 10 minutes
  • Keep in oven for 10 minutes or until its browned.

Method Two

  • Place flour evenly on a skillet for a few minutes and keep whisking until all of it is browned.
